Refund Policy

Last updated: 17th July, 2026

1. Introduction

At Argus, we want users to have a fair opportunity to evaluate whether our job discovery and application automation Service meets their needs.

This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be available for purchases of Argus subscriptions, plans, licences, and related services.

This Refund Policy forms part of the Argus Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.

By purchasing an Argus plan, you agree to this Refund Policy.

2. Subscription Plans

Argus operates primarily on a subscription basis.

The applicable:

  • Subscription price;
  • Billing frequency;
  • Included features;
  • Usage limits;
  • Free-trial terms;
  • Renewal date; and
  • Applicable taxes

will be displayed on the Argus website, within the Service, or during checkout before you complete your purchase.

Subscription fees cover access to the Argus Service. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they do not include charges from third-party services you connect to Argus, such as AI providers, job boards, cloud services, or internet providers.

3. Thirty-Day Refund Window

We offer a 30-day refund window for your first eligible Argus purchase.

The 30-day period begins on the date of your first successful payment for an Argus subscription or other eligible paid plan.

To qualify for consideration, your refund request must be submitted within 30 calendar days of that first payment.

After the 30-day period expires, the purchase is generally considered final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law.

We recommend that you test Argus during this period, including:

  • Installing the desktop application;
  • Connecting the job boards you intend to use;
  • Configuring your profile and preferences;
  • Connecting your selected AI provider;
  • Testing job discovery;
  • Reviewing job match results; and
  • Testing application automation where appropriate.

4. First Purchases Only

The 30-day refund window applies only to the first eligible purchase associated with a user.

It does not restart when you:

  • Renew a subscription;
  • Cancel and later resubscribe;
  • Change plans;
  • Upgrade or downgrade;
  • Change your email address;
  • Create another account;
  • Replace your device; or
  • Purchase through a different payment method.

Creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated refund periods, free trials, discounts, or promotional access is prohibited.

We may consider accounts linked by payment information, device information, identity, organization, or other reasonable indicators to be associated with the same user for refund-eligibility purposes.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us at:

hello@argusapply.com

Your request should include:

  • The email address associated with your Argus account;
  • Your order, invoice, or transaction number;
  • The date of purchase;
  • The plan purchased;
  • A brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund; and
  • Any relevant screenshots or error details.

We may request additional information to verify the purchase, confirm account ownership, investigate technical issues, or prevent fraud.

Providing a reason is not intended to limit any non-waivable legal right you may have.

6. Refund Evaluation

Refund requests may be evaluated based on:

  • Whether the request was submitted within the refund window;
  • Whether this was your first eligible purchase;
  • The reason for the request;
  • The amount of Service usage;
  • Whether the Service was substantially consumed;
  • Whether Argus was installed and configured correctly;
  • Whether the issue was caused by Argus or a third party;
  • Whether reasonable troubleshooting steps were attempted;
  • Whether the account violated our Terms of Service;
  • Whether the request appears fraudulent or abusive; and
  • Any rights available under applicable law.

Submitting a request does not guarantee that a refund will be approved.

Nothing in this Policy limits refunds or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

7. Subscription Renewals

The 30-day refund window runs from the date of your first eligible purchase. It does not apply separately to each subscription renewal.

Renewal charges are generally non-refundable.

If you do not want your subscription to renew, you must cancel it before the applicable renewal date.

We may consider a refund for a renewal charge in limited circumstances, such as:

  • You cancelled before the renewal date but were charged because of a system error;
  • You were charged more than once for the same renewal;
  • The renewal amount differed from the price properly disclosed to you;
  • Your account remained billed after a confirmed cancellation; or
  • A refund is required by applicable law.

You should contact us promptly after discovering an incorrect renewal charge.

8. Cancellation Is Not a Refund Request

Cancelling your subscription prevents future renewals but does not automatically refund charges already paid.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Your access continues until the end of the current billing period;
  • No further renewal charge will be made after a valid cancellation;
  • The unused portion of the current billing period is not prorated; and
  • Previously paid fees remain non-refundable.

Deleting your Argus account or uninstalling the desktop application does not necessarily cancel an active subscription.

You must cancel using the account, billing portal, payment provider, or other cancellation method made available to you.

9. Free Trials

Where Argus offers a free trial, the trial terms will be disclosed when you register.

A free trial may automatically convert into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Charges made after a trial converts into a paid subscription may qualify for the 30-day first-purchase refund window, provided the request otherwise meets this Policy.

Free-trial eligibility may be limited to one trial per user.

A trial may be refused, cancelled, or restricted where we reasonably believe it is being used fraudulently or through multiple associated accounts.

10. Plan Upgrades and Downgrades

If you upgrade your subscription, you may be charged immediately or for a prorated amount, depending on the billing system used.

Refunds for upgrades will be evaluated based on:

  • The original subscription date;
  • The date of the upgrade;
  • The additional amount charged;
  • Your use of the upgraded features; and
  • Applicable law.

Upgrading your plan does not restart the original 30-day refund window.

Downgrades generally take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated. A downgrade does not normally entitle you to a refund for the unused difference between plans.

11. Duplicate or Incorrect Charges

Contact us promptly if you believe that:

  • You were charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • You were charged after cancelling;
  • You were charged an incorrect amount;
  • You purchased the wrong plan because of a billing error; or
  • A payment was processed without your authorization.

Verified duplicate or incorrect charges may be refunded independently of the standard refund window.

Unauthorized payments may also need to be reported directly to your bank, card issuer, payment provider, or applicable payment marketplace.

12. Technical Problems

Experiencing a technical problem does not automatically qualify a purchase for a refund.

Before approving a refund for a technical issue, we may ask you to take reasonable troubleshooting steps, such as:

  • Updating Argus;
  • Restarting the application;
  • Confirming system compatibility;
  • Verifying internet access;
  • Reconnecting a job board;
  • Reauthenticating a browser session;
  • Checking your AI provider configuration;
  • Reviewing application permissions;
  • Providing diagnostic logs; or
  • Installing a relevant bug fix.

A refund may be considered where a significant Argus-controlled defect prevents you from using a core paid feature and we cannot provide a reasonable fix or workaround.

13. Device and System Requirements

Argus is a desktop-based application that depends on a compatible computer, operating system, internet connection, and supported browser environment.

Refunds may be declined where the Service cannot operate because:

  • Your device does not meet published requirements;
  • Your operating system is unsupported;
  • Your device is turned off or asleep;
  • Your internet connection is unavailable or unstable;
  • Required permissions were denied;
  • Security software blocks Argus;
  • Your browser environment was modified;
  • Your computer is managed or restricted by an employer;
  • You are using an unsupported virtual machine or server; or
  • You did not install or configure the desktop application.

We recommend reviewing system requirements before purchasing.

14. Third-Party Job Boards

Argus interacts with third-party job boards, recruitment platforms, and employer websites.

A refund will not ordinarily be issued solely because:

  • A job board changes its website;
  • A job board temporarily blocks automation;
  • A CAPTCHA or identity check appears;
  • Your job board account is restricted or suspended;
  • A job board changes its terms or policies;
  • A particular job board is temporarily unsupported;
  • A job listing is removed;
  • An employer does not respond;
  • No suitable jobs are available; or
  • You do not receive interviews or employment offers.

Argus does not control third-party platforms or employment decisions.

Where a major supported integration becomes permanently unavailable and materially affects your paid plan, we may consider an appropriate remedy at our discretion or as required by law.

15. Third-Party AI Providers and Other Costs

Argus may allow you to connect your own AI provider, API key, paid account, or other third-party service.

Argus refunds do not cover:

  • AI API charges;
  • Job board subscription fees;
  • Internet charges;
  • Cloud-service charges;
  • Payment-provider fees charged directly to you;
  • Currency conversion charges;
  • Bank fees; or
  • Other third-party costs.

Refund requests for those charges must be directed to the third party that collected them.

Problems caused exclusively by a third-party AI provider, including outages, insufficient credits, rate limits, model changes, account restrictions, or inaccurate responses, do not automatically qualify your Argus subscription for a refund.

16. Employment Outcomes

Argus does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employer responses, or employment.

Refunds will not ordinarily be issued because:

  • You did not receive an interview;
  • An employer rejected your application;
  • You did not receive a job offer;
  • A job was already filled;
  • An employer did not respond;
  • A generated match score did not reflect an employer’s decision; or
  • You changed your job-search goals.

The subscription provides access to the Argus Service and its features, not a guaranteed employment outcome.

17. Fair Use and Account Violations

You will not be entitled to a refund if your account, subscription, or licence is suspended, restricted, disabled, or terminated because you violated the Argus Terms of Service, except where a refund is required by law.

This may include violations involving:

  • Fraudulent use;
  • False candidate profiles;
  • Misrepresentation in job applications;
  • Account sharing;
  • Reselling the Service;
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade limits;
  • Circumventing application or usage limits;
  • Abusive application volume;
  • Unauthorized access;
  • Reverse engineering;
  • Interference with the Service;
  • Payment fraud;
  • Chargeback abuse; or
  • Use that creates legal, security, or platform risk.

Termination for a violation does not cancel amounts already owed.

18. Promotional, Discounted, and Complimentary Plans

Promotional, discounted, complimentary, beta, giveaway, or partner-provided plans may have different refund conditions.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Free access has no monetary refund value;
  • Promotional credits are not redeemable for cash;
  • Discounts are not refundable separately;
  • Expired credits will not be restored;
  • Referral rewards are not refundable; and
  • A refund will not exceed the amount actually paid.

Specific promotional terms will control where they conflict with this Policy.

19. Marketplace and Reseller Purchases

If you purchase Argus through an app marketplace, reseller, partner, merchant of record, or other third-party seller, that provider may control billing, cancellation, and refunds.

You may need to submit your refund request directly through the provider that processed the purchase.

We cannot guarantee that we can directly refund a transaction where the funds were collected and controlled by a third party.

The third party’s refund terms may apply in addition to this Policy.

20. Refund Method

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method.

We normally cannot send a refund:

  • To a different card;
  • To another bank account;
  • To another user;
  • Through cash;
  • Through cryptocurrency; or
  • Through a payment method unrelated to the original purchase.

Where the original payment method is unavailable, the payment processor will determine which alternatives, if any, are permitted.

21. Refund Processing Time

After a refund is approved, we will submit it to the applicable payment processor.

The time required for the refund to appear depends on your:

  • Payment method;
  • Bank;
  • Card issuer;
  • Payment processor;
  • Country; and
  • Currency.

Argus does not control delays that occur after a refund has been submitted to the payment processor.

Any processing timeframe we provide is an estimate rather than a guarantee.

22. Taxes, Fees, and Currency Conversion

Where permitted, an approved refund will include applicable taxes collected as part of the refunded purchase.

The refunded amount may differ from the amount shown on your bank statement because of:

  • Currency conversion;
  • Exchange-rate changes;
  • Bank fees;
  • Card-issuer fees;
  • International transaction charges; or
  • Payment-processor rules.

Argus is not responsible for fees retained or separately charged by your bank, card issuer, or another third party.

23. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, please contact us so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the issue.

Filing a chargeback does not automatically entitle you to a refund.

When a chargeback is filed, we may:

  • Suspend the associated Argus account;
  • Pause active automation;
  • Restrict access to paid features;
  • Submit transaction and usage records to the payment provider;
  • Contest fraudulent or inaccurate claims; and
  • Require resolution of the dispute before restoring access.

This section does not prevent you from exercising any lawful right to dispute an unauthorized or incorrect payment.

24. Abuse of the Refund Policy

We may refuse a refund request where we reasonably believe the Policy is being abused.

Examples may include:

  • Repeatedly purchasing and requesting refunds;
  • Creating multiple accounts;
  • Substantially using the Service before requesting a refund;
  • Requesting a refund after completing a large number of applications;
  • Providing false refund information;
  • Claiming a transaction was unauthorized when it was authorized;
  • Combining a refund request with abusive chargebacks; or
  • Attempting to retain access after receiving a refund.

We may restrict future purchases or access where repeated refund abuse is detected.

25. Effect of a Refund

When a full refund is issued:

  • Your paid subscription may be cancelled immediately;
  • Access to paid features may end immediately;
  • Scheduled automation may be stopped;
  • Connected services may be disconnected;
  • Promotional credits may be removed; and
  • Your account may be moved to a free or restricted plan, where available.

Applications already submitted to employers cannot be withdrawn automatically by issuing a refund.

Information already transmitted to job boards, employers, AI providers, or other third parties remains subject to those parties’ policies.

26. Partial Refunds and Credits

At our discretion, we may offer:

  • A partial refund;
  • A subscription extension;
  • Account credit;
  • A replacement billing period;
  • A plan adjustment; or
  • Another reasonable remedy.

Offering such a remedy in one case does not require us to provide the same remedy in another case.

Unless otherwise stated, account credits:

  • Have no cash value;
  • Are non-transferable;
  • May expire;
  • Cannot be resold; and
  • May be used only for eligible Argus purchases.

27. Consumer Rights

This Refund Policy does not limit any mandatory refund, cancellation, withdrawal, warranty, or consumer-protection rights that apply in your country or region.

Where this Policy conflicts with a non-waivable legal right, the applicable law will control.

You may be asked to provide information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, purchase, location, or legal eligibility for a requested remedy.

28. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes to:

  • Our subscription plans;
  • Billing systems;
  • Payment providers;
  • Product features;
  • Business practices; or
  • Applicable legal requirements.

The updated Policy will take effect when it is posted or on the effective date stated in the Policy.

Material changes will not retroactively remove refund rights that had already arisen under an earlier version of this Policy.

Your continued use of Argus after an updated Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
