Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Argus (“Argus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you access the Argus website, web application, desktop application, and related services collectively referred to as the “Service.”
Argus is an AI-powered job search and application automation platform. It helps users discover, evaluate, rank, and apply to relevant job opportunities using their own device, browser environment, logged-in job board accounts, preferences, and connected AI providers.
By accessing or using Argus, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), and other relevant data protection regulations.
Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through:
- The Argus website;
- The Argus web application;
- The Argus desktop application;
- Argus accounts and subscriptions;
- Argus support and communications; and
- Other services provided directly by Argus.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, job boards, AI providers, payment processors, email providers, or other services that you connect to or access through Argus.
These third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before connecting or using a third-party service with Argus.

Argus may process and store information relating to jobs discovered or applications completed through the Service, including:
- Job titles;

- Match scores;
- Application status;
- Application dates;

This information is used to operate the Service, provide application history, prevent duplicate applications, improve your results, and allow you to review Argus’s activity.
Resume and Document Information
When you upload a resume, cover letter, portfolio, or other document, we may store and process that document to provide the Service.
Your documents may be used to:
- Evaluate job relevance;
- Generate personalized application responses;
- Complete job application forms;

- Display your application history.
Connected Job Board Information
Argus may allow you to connect job boards and other recruitment platforms.
Argus is designed to perform job discovery and application activity through your own device, browser session, IP address, cookies, and logged-in accounts.
Your job board login credentials are generally entered directly into the relevant job board through your browser. Argus should not require you to provide your job board password directly to Argus unless this is clearly disclosed for a specific integration.
Argus may locally access information required to maintain your authenticated browser session, such as browser cookies or session data. This information may remain within the browser profile or local storage used by the Argus desktop application.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Argus complies with the terms and policies of any connected job board.
Connected AI Provider Information
Argus may allow you to connect an AI provider of your choice to rank jobs, generate responses, analyze job descriptions, or assist with applications.
Depending on the provider and configuration, relevant information may be sent to that provider, including:
- Job descriptions;
- Resume information;
- Profile information;
- Application questions; and
- Draft responses.
The handling of information sent to a connected AI provider is governed by that provider’s privacy policy, data retention policy, and terms of service.
Argus does not control how a third-party AI provider stores, uses, retains, or trains models using information submitted to it. You should review the provider’s privacy and data-control settings before connecting it to Argus.
Payment Information
Payments and subscriptions may be processed by third-party payment providers.
Argus generally does not directly store complete payment card details. Payment processors may collect and process information such as:
- Your name;
- Billing address;
- Payment method;
- Transaction details;
- Tax information; and
- Subscription status.
We may receive limited payment-related information from the processor, such as transaction identifiers, payment status, subscription plan, renewal date, and the last few digits of a payment method.

When you contact us, we may collect:
- Your name and email address;
- The content of your message;
- Support requests;
- Screenshots or files you provide;
- Diagnostic information; and

Where available, optional analytics or diagnostic collection may be controlled through your account or application settings.
Argus does not intentionally collect the contents of unrelated browser activity, personal files, or applications on your device.
Local Device Processing
A central feature of Argus is that job discovery and application automation are performed through the user’s own desktop environment.
This means that browser automation may use:
- Your device;
- Your internet connection and IP address;
- Your browser profile;
- Your existing cookies and authenticated sessions;
- Your connected job board accounts; and
- Your locally configured application preferences.
Certain information required to run the desktop application may be stored locally on your device, including:
- Browser session information;
- Application settings;
- Automation schedules;
- Temporary job data;
- Process status;
- Error logs; and
- Cached information.
Locally stored information remains subject to the security of your device. You are responsible for protecting your computer, operating-system account, browser profile, and Argus account from unauthorized access.
Uninstalling Argus may not automatically remove every locally stored browser profile, log, cache, or configuration file. Additional deletion instructions may be provided in our documentation.

AI and Model Training
Argus does not use your resume, profile, job application information, or generated application responses to train Argus-owned general-purpose AI models unless we provide clear notice and obtain any consent required by law.
When you connect a third-party AI provider, information submitted to that provider may be processed according to its own settings and policies. Some providers may retain submitted information or use it to improve their services unless you select an appropriate privacy or enterprise configuration.
You are responsible for reviewing the data-use settings of any AI provider you connect to Argus.
Automated Decision-Making
Argus may use automated systems to score, rank, filter, or recommend job opportunities.
These scores are intended to assist you and automate actions according to the rules you configure. They do not guarantee that:
- You are qualified for a job;
- An employer will review your application;
- An application will be successful;
- The generated information will always be accurate; or
- A particular job is suitable for you.
You may adjust your preferences, review jobs before applying, set application limits, exclude companies, or disable automation where those controls are available.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Argus website and web application may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in;
- Remember your preferences;
- Maintain security;
- Process subscriptions;
- Understand website performance; and
- Improve the Service.
Some cookies may be provided by third-party authentication, analytics, support, or payment services.
Where required by law, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies. You may also manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working correctly.
The Argus desktop application may use local storage, browser profiles, session files, and similar device technologies to maintain settings and authenticated job board sessions.
How We Share Information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Service Providers
We may use third-party providers for services such as:
- Cloud hosting;
- Database storage;
- Authentication;
- File storage;
- Payment processing;
- Transactional email;
- Customer support;
- Error monitoring;
- Analytics; and
- Security.
These providers may process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only as allowed by their agreements with us and applicable law.
Services You Connect
When you instruct Argus to interact with a job board, AI provider, or other integration, we may transmit information necessary to complete that action.
For example, application information may be submitted to a job board, and resume or job information may be sent to your selected AI provider.
Legal and Safety Requirements
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- Enforce our terms or agreements;
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Argus, our users, or the public; or
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business Transfers
If Argus is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Where required, we will provide notice before your personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the Service;
- Maintain your account;
- Preserve your application history;
- Complete transactions;
- Resolve disputes;
- Enforce agreements;
- Maintain security; and
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
The retention period may depend on the type of information and how it is used.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information under our control within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business purposes.
Information stored on your device, submitted to job boards, sent to connected AI providers, or processed by other third parties may not be deleted when you delete your Argus account. You may need to delete that information separately through the relevant device or third-party service.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These safeguards may include:
- Encryption in transit;
- Access controls;
- Authentication protections;
- Secure cloud infrastructure;
- Restricted internal access;
- Logging and monitoring; and
- Security reviews.
Because Argus performs automation through your device and authenticated browser sessions, the security of your device is also important. You should:
- Use a strong device password;
- Keep your operating system and Argus application updated;
- Avoid sharing your browser profile;
- Enable available account security features;
- Protect access to connected AI provider keys; and
- Sign out or disconnect services you no longer use.
No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers
Argus and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, which may include contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA or California Privacy Rights Act, including rights to know, correct, delete, and obtain information about certain disclosures of personal information.
Argus does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
Argus also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless this is clearly disclosed and any legally required opt-out mechanism is provided.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, such as providing the Argus Service;
- Your consent;
- Compliance with a legal obligation;
- Our legitimate interests, such as securing, maintaining, and improving the Service; or
- The establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
Where processing is based on legitimate interests, we consider whether those interests are overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Children’s Privacy
Argus is not intended for children under the age of 16, or the minimum age required to consent to online services in the user’s jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Argus, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Third-Party Job Boards and Services
Argus is an independent service and may not be affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected to the job boards, employers, AI providers, or other third-party services it supports.
Your activity on a third-party service remains subject to that service’s terms, privacy policy, usage limits, and account restrictions.
Argus is not responsible for:
- The privacy practices of third parties;
- Changes made by third-party services;

If a change materially affects how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will provide appropriate notice through the Service, by email, or through another reasonable method.
Your continued use of Argus after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
