Terms of Service
Last updated: 17th July, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Argus website, web application, desktop application, software, and related services collectively referred to as the “Service.”
The Service is operated by Argus (“Argus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, downloading or installing the Argus desktop application, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and enter into a legally binding agreement with us.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use Argus.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms;
- The information you provide is accurate and complete;
- You are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law; and
- You will use the Service only for lawful personal or business purposes.
If you use Argus on behalf of a company or another organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. In that case, “you” includes both you and the organization.
3. Description of the Service
Argus is a job search and job application automation platform.
Depending on your plan, configuration, location, and connected services, Argus may help you:
- Connect job boards and recruitment platforms;
- Discover job opportunities;
- Import or process job listings;
- Score and rank jobs against your profile;
- Filter jobs based on your preferences;
- Generate application answers, summaries, or cover letters;
- Complete job application forms;
- Submit job applications;
- Schedule job discovery or application activity;
- Track application history and status;
- Manage resumes and job-related documents; and
- Review or control automated actions.
Some Argus features operate through the Argus desktop application using your own device, internet connection, browser profile, cookies, authenticated sessions, and connected job board accounts.
Features may vary between subscription plans and may change over time.
4. No Guarantee of Employment
Argus is a productivity and automation tool. Argus is not:
- An employer;
- A recruitment agency;
- A staffing company;
- A career adviser;
- An employment lawyer;
- An immigration adviser; or
- A representative of any job board or employer.
We do not guarantee that:
- Argus will find any particular job;
- A job listing is genuine, accurate, current, or available;
- You meet the qualifications for a job;
- An employer will receive or review your application;
- You will receive an interview, offer, response, or employment;
- An application will be completed successfully;
- AI-generated information will be accurate;
- A connected job board will permit a particular automated action; or
- Using Argus will improve your employment prospects.
You remain solely responsible for deciding which jobs to pursue and for evaluating employers, job descriptions, compensation, working conditions, and employment offers.
5. Authorization to Act on Your Behalf
By enabling job application automation, you authorize Argus to perform the actions you configure on your behalf.
These actions may include:
- Opening job listings;
- Reading job descriptions;
- Evaluating job relevance;
- Selecting a resume;
- Filling application fields;
- Generating responses;
- Uploading documents;
- Answering application questions;
- Clicking submission controls; and
- Submitting applications to employers or recruitment platforms.
Argus will rely on the profile information, preferences, rules, exclusions, limits, and review settings you provide.
You are responsible for reviewing and configuring these settings before enabling automation.
When you enable automatic submission without manual review, you acknowledge that applications may be submitted without you individually reviewing every field or response.
You may disable automation or require review before submission where those controls are available.
6. Your Responsibility for Applications
You are responsible for every application submitted through your Argus account, including applications submitted automatically.
You must ensure that:
- Your resume and profile information are accurate;
- Your qualifications are represented truthfully;
- Your answers do not contain false or misleading statements;
- You are legally permitted to apply for the relevant position;
- You meet any work-authorization or location requirements you claim to meet;
- The documents submitted are current and appropriate;
- Your automation rules reflect your actual preferences; and
- You review sensitive or legally significant questions before submission.
You must not use Argus to misrepresent your identity, education, experience, skills, location, work authorization, salary history, criminal history, disability status, veteran status, security clearance, or any other material information.
Argus may generate or suggest responses, but you remain responsible for their accuracy and suitability.
7. Sensitive Application Questions
Job applications may ask for sensitive or legally significant information, including information relating to:
- Work authorization;
- Immigration status;
- Criminal history;
- Disability;
- Health;
- Gender;
- Race or ethnicity;
- Veteran status;
- Salary history;
- Conflicts of interest;
- Background checks; or
- Government security clearance.
Argus may skip, flag, or require manual review for certain questions.
You should not configure automatic answers to sensitive questions unless you understand the question and have verified that the saved answer is correct.
Argus is not responsible for consequences arising from inaccurate, outdated, or automatically submitted answers.
8. Job Board Accounts and Third-Party Services
Argus may interact with third-party job boards, recruitment platforms, employer websites, AI providers, payment processors, authentication providers, email providers, and other services.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party’s:
- Terms of service;
- Privacy policy;
- Community standards;
- Automation rules;
- Usage limits; and
- Account policies.
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those terms.
Argus is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any job board, employer, AI provider, or recruitment platform unless expressly stated.
We do not control and are not responsible for:
- Third-party websites or services;
- Changes to third-party platforms;
- Job board availability;
- Job listing accuracy;
- Employer conduct;
- Third-party data retention;
- Account restrictions imposed by a third party;
- CAPTCHAs or identity-verification requests;
- Changes to application forms;
- Third-party security incidents; or
- Actions taken against your third-party account.
9. Risk of Third-Party Account Restrictions
Some job boards or websites may restrict automated access, scraping, form completion, or application submission.
Using automation may result in:
- Additional verification requests;
- CAPTCHAs;
- Temporary access restrictions;
- Session termination;
- Reduced functionality;
- Account suspension; or
- Account termination.
Although Argus is designed to operate through your own device and authenticated browser environment, this does not guarantee that automated activity will be accepted by a third-party platform.
You accept responsibility for evaluating whether your use of Argus complies with the rules of each connected service.
Argus is not responsible for warnings, restrictions, suspensions, or terminations imposed by third parties.
10. Browser Sessions and Local Device Access
Some features require Argus to access or control a browser environment on your device.
By enabling these features, you authorize Argus to use the browser profile designated for the Service, including relevant:
- Cookies;
- Session information;
- Logged-in accounts;
- Local storage;
- Browser preferences;
- Downloaded files; and
- Authentication states.
Argus is not intended to access unrelated personal browser activity. However, you should use a dedicated browser profile for Argus where possible and avoid storing unrelated sensitive information in that profile.
You are responsible for:
- Securing your device;
- Protecting your operating-system account;
- Protecting your browser profile;
- Keeping the Argus application updated;
- Reviewing connected accounts;
- Signing out of accounts you no longer want connected; and
- Preventing unauthorized access to your device.
The Service may not function while your device is turned off, disconnected from the internet, asleep, or otherwise unable to run the Argus desktop application.
Scheduled activity that could not run may be delayed, skipped, or started when the application next becomes available.
11. AI-Generated Content
Argus may use artificial intelligence to:
- Analyze resumes;
- Compare profiles with job descriptions;
- Assign match scores;
- Generate application answers;
- Draft cover letters;
- Summarize qualifications;
- Classify jobs; and
- Assist with form completion.
AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, inappropriate, or misleading.
You acknowledge that:
- AI output should not be treated as verified fact;
- Match scores are estimates rather than objective determinations;
- Similar jobs may receive different scores;
- AI may misunderstand a job description or your experience;
- Generated answers may require editing; and
- Human review may be necessary before submitting an application.
You remain responsible for all content submitted using your account.
12. Connected AI Providers
Argus may allow you to connect an AI provider using your own API key, account, subscription, or credentials.
When you connect an AI provider:
- You authorize Argus to send relevant information to that provider;
- The provider may receive job descriptions, resume information, profile information, and application questions;
- The provider’s terms and privacy policy apply;
- You are responsible for charges imposed by the provider;
- You are responsible for maintaining sufficient credits or account access; and
- You are responsible for selecting appropriate privacy and data-retention settings.
We do not control the accuracy, availability, pricing, security, retention practices, or model-training policies of third-party AI providers.
Argus subscription fees do not include third-party AI usage fees unless expressly stated.
You must not provide an AI provider key that you are not authorized to use.
13. User Accounts and Security
You may need an account to use some or all of the Service.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate registration information;
- Keep your information current;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials;
- Use reasonable account-security measures;
- Prevent unauthorized access to your account; and
- Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
You are responsible for activities performed through your account unless those activities result directly from a security failure within systems controlled by Argus.
You must not share, sell, rent, transfer, or provide access to your account except where we expressly permit team or organizational accounts.
We may require additional verification or temporarily restrict access when we detect suspicious activity.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, store, disclose, and protect personal information.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or other processing of personal information.
To exercise an applicable privacy right, contact us at hello@argusapply.com.
15. User Content
“User Content” means information or materials you upload, enter, connect, generate, or submit through Argus, including:
- Resumes;
- Cover letters;
- Employment history;
- Education;
- Skills;
- Job preferences;
- Application answers;
- Profile information;
- Documents;
- URLs;
- Instructions; and
- Feedback.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant Argus a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, modify, and use User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the Service;
- Perform actions you request;
- Maintain and secure the Service;
- Resolve support requests;
- Prevent misuse; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
This license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from systems under our control, except where continued retention is legally permitted or required.
You represent that you have all rights and permissions necessary to provide User Content to Argus and permit us to process it.
16. Prohibited Content
You must not upload, generate, transmit, or submit content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading;
- Infringes intellectual-property rights;
- Violates privacy or confidentiality rights;
- Contains malware or malicious code;
- Impersonates another person;
- Contains information obtained without authorization;
- Encourages discrimination or unlawful conduct;
- Falsely represents professional qualifications; or
- Is intended to deceive employers or recruitment platforms.
We may remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.
17. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Argus for an illegal or fraudulent purpose;
- Apply for jobs using another person’s identity;
- Submit false or materially misleading information;
- Create fake candidate profiles;
- Apply to jobs on behalf of another person without authorization;
- Harass employers, recruiters, or other users;
- Use Argus to overwhelm employers with irrelevant applications;
- Circumvent application limits or safety controls;
- Bypass subscription or payment requirements;
- Share or resell account access;
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions;
- Access systems or data without authorization;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service;
- Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code;
- Interfere with the operation of the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- Copy or reproduce the Service to create a competing product;
- Extract source code, prompts, models, or proprietary workflows;
- Scrape or harvest information from Argus;
- Use Argus infrastructure as a general-purpose automation or AI service;
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or technical restrictions;
- Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without permission; or
- Use the Service in a way that creates excessive technical, legal, or operational risk.
18. Responsible Application Automation
Argus is designed to support relevant, user-directed job applications rather than indiscriminate application spam.
We may impose limits relating to:
- Applications per day;
- Jobs processed per day;
- Connected job boards;
- Automation frequency;
- Concurrent processes;
- AI requests;
- Browser sessions;
- Storage;
- Job discovery activity; and
- Other resource-intensive features.
You must not use Argus to submit excessive, irrelevant, deceptive, or repetitive applications.
We may pause, throttle, restrict, or disable activity that we reasonably believe:
- Is abusive;
- Is fraudulent;
- Creates platform risk;
- Causes excessive resource usage;
- Violates third-party rules;
- Harms employers or other candidates;
- Attempts to evade limits; or
- Is inconsistent with normal use of the Service.
19. Fair Use and Rate Limits
Certain plans may be described as offering “unlimited” job discovery, job matching, connected job boards, or job applications.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, “unlimited” means subject to reasonable fair-use, technical, security, and anti-abuse limits.
Unlimited access does not permit:
- Automated resale;
- Commercial processing for third parties;
- Shared-account usage;
- Abnormally high resource consumption;
- Circumvention of processing limits;
- Use across unauthorized devices or users;
- Bulk processing unrelated to the account holder’s own job search; or
- Activity that threatens Service stability.
We may enforce fair-use limits through throttling, queuing, temporary restrictions, or account suspension.
Where practical, we will attempt to notify you before applying a permanent restriction, unless immediate action is required for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
20. License to Use Argus
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the Argus desktop application and access the Service.
This license permits you to use Argus only for its intended purpose and only for the duration of your authorized access.
Argus is licensed, not sold.
You do not acquire ownership of the software, source code, infrastructure, trademarks, design, models, workflows, or other intellectual property associated with the Service.
21. Intellectual Property
The Service and all related intellectual property are owned by Argus or our licensors.
This includes:
- Software;
- Source code;
- Interfaces;
- Designs;
- Logos;
- Trademarks;
- Documentation;
- Databases;
- Workflows;
- Text;
- Graphics;
- Models;
- Algorithms; and
- Service-generated materials other than your User Content.
You may not use the Argus name, logo, trademarks, or branding without our prior written permission.
22. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, modify, publish, and incorporate that feedback without compensation or obligation to you.
This does not give us ownership of your resume, profile, or other User Content.
23. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features require a paid subscription.
Subscription prices, billing periods, features, limits, taxes, and payment terms will be displayed before purchase.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees and taxes to your selected payment method.
You agree to provide accurate billing information and keep your payment method current.
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. The payment provider’s terms and privacy policy also apply.
24. Free Trials and Promotional Access
We may offer a free trial, promotional period, discount, or limited-access plan.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of registration:
- A free trial is available only once per person;
- We may determine eligibility;
- Features may be limited;
- Promotional access may be modified or withdrawn;
- Abuse of trial access is prohibited; and
- Creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated trials is prohibited.
Where a trial automatically converts to a paid subscription, the applicable price, billing date, and cancellation method will be disclosed before you subscribe.
25. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation
Unless otherwise stated, paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, you authorize recurring charges at the price disclosed during checkout or subsequently notified to you.
You may cancel through your Argus account, the applicable payment portal, or another cancellation method we provide.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.
After cancellation:
- You may continue using paid features until the end of the billing period;
- Your subscription will not renew;
- Previously paid fees will generally not be prorated; and
- Some stored information may remain available under a free plan or may be deleted according to our retention practices.
Deleting or uninstalling the Argus desktop application does not necessarily cancel your subscription.
26. Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated in a separate Refund Policy, payments are non-refundable.
We may provide a refund period of 30 days for a user’s first subscription purchase.
Any refund eligibility, exclusions, and request process will be described in our Refund Policy or during checkout.
Refunds may be refused where we reasonably determine that:
- The refund period has expired;
- The Service was substantially used;
- The request is abusive or fraudulent;
- The account violated these Terms;
- The purchase was made through a third-party marketplace with its own refund process; or
- A refund is not otherwise required by applicable law.
27. Taxes and Third-Party Charges
Prices may exclude applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
You are responsible for:
- Taxes associated with your purchase;
- Internet and mobile-data charges;
- AI provider charges;
- Cloud provider charges;
- Job board subscription fees; and
- Other third-party costs associated with your use of Argus.
We are not responsible for charges imposed by third-party services you connect to Argus.
28. Changes to Plans and Pricing
We may change:
- Subscription prices;
- Plan names;
- Included features;
- Usage limits;
- Trial terms; and
- Billing structures.
Price changes will not apply retroactively to an already completed billing period.
Where required, we will provide advance notice before a price change affects your next renewal.
If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.
29. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
The Service may be unavailable because of:
- Maintenance;
- Software updates;
- Security incidents;
- Infrastructure failures;
- Internet outages;
- Third-party service changes;
- Job board changes;
- Browser updates;
- Operating-system restrictions;
- AI provider outages;
- Payment-provider outages; or
- Events outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict any part of the Service.
Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of material changes, but we are not obligated to maintain any specific feature indefinitely.
30. Software Updates
Argus may automatically download or install updates.
Updates may include:
- Security patches;
- Bug fixes;
- Compatibility changes;
- New features;
- Feature removals;
- Browser automation updates; and
- Changes required by third-party platforms.
You may need to install the latest version to continue using the Service.
We are not responsible for issues caused by unsupported, modified, or outdated versions of the application.
31. Beta and Experimental Features
We may offer beta, preview, early-access, or experimental features.
These features may:
- Be incomplete;
- Contain errors;
- Change without notice;
- Produce inaccurate results;
- Be temporarily unavailable; or
- Be discontinued.
Beta features are provided for evaluation and may be subject to additional terms or limits.
You use beta features at your own risk.
32. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Argus disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of:
- Merchantability;
- Fitness for a particular purpose;
- Title;
- Non-infringement;
- Accuracy;
- Reliability;
- Availability;
- Security; and
- Compatibility.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- All jobs will be discovered;
- Every application will be completed;
- Generated answers will be accurate;
- Third-party platforms will remain compatible;
- Employers will respond;
- Your accounts will not be restricted by third parties;
- Data will never be lost; or
- Defects will always be corrected.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
33. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Argus and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages.
This includes damages arising from:
- Lost employment opportunities;
- Lost income or profits;
- Lost data;
- Missed application deadlines;
- Incorrect applications;
- AI-generated errors;
- Employer decisions;
- Job board restrictions;
- Third-party account suspension;
- Security incidents outside our control;
- Device or browser issues;

- Reliance on information provided through Argus.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid to Argus during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
34. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Argus and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, costs, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service;
- Your User Content;
- Applications submitted through your account;
- False or misleading information you provide;
- Your violation of these Terms;
- Your violation of third-party terms;
- Your violation of another person’s rights; or
- Your unlawful or unauthorized conduct.
This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused directly by Argus’s unlawful conduct or gross negligence.
35. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
You may request account deletion through available account controls or by contacting us.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access if:
- You violate these Terms;
- You fail to pay applicable fees;
- Your payment is disputed or reversed;
- We detect fraud or unauthorized activity;
- Your use creates security or legal risk;
- Your activity is abusive or excessive;
- You attempt to evade limits;
- We are required to do so by law;
- A third-party dependency prevents us from continuing the Service; or
- We discontinue the Service.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the violation. We may act immediately where necessary to protect users, third parties, or the Service.
36. Effect of Termination
When your access ends:
- Your license to use Argus ends;
- You must stop using paid or restricted features;
- Scheduled automation may stop;
- Connected sessions may no longer function;
- You may lose access to stored information; and
- You remain responsible for fees incurred before termination.
Termination does not automatically withdraw applications already submitted or delete information held by employers, job boards, AI providers, or other third parties.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, disputes, and payment obligations.
37. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to:
- The Service;
- Our business;
- Subscription plans;
- Third-party integrations;
- Security practices;
- Legal requirements; or
- Industry practices.
Updated Terms will become effective when posted or on the date stated in the notice.
If changes are material, we may notify you by email, within the Service, or through another reasonable method.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription.
Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
38. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith discussion.
Written notice of a dispute should be sent to hello@argusapply.com.
If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue available legal remedies in the courts located in Delhi, India.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer right to bring a claim in another court or jurisdiction.
39. Export Controls and Sanctions
You may not use, export, or provide access to the Service in violation of applicable export-control, sanctions, or trade laws.
You represent that you are not prohibited from receiving the Service under applicable law.
40. Assignment
You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of the Service.
41. Force Majeure
We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters;
- War;
- Civil unrest;
- Government action;
- Internet failure;
- Power outages;
- Cyberattacks;
- Labour disputes;
- Third-party platform failures;
- Cloud-service outages; or
- Changes imposed by job boards or technology providers.
42. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
If it cannot be modified, it will be removed without affecting the remaining provisions.
43. Waiver
Our failure or delay in enforcing a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
A waiver is effective only if made in writing by an authorized representative of Argus.
44. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and any additional terms presented for a specific feature or plan, form the entire agreement between you and Argus concerning the Service.
They replace prior discussions, communications, proposals, and agreements concerning the same subject.
If you have entered into a separate written agreement with us, that agreement will govern to the extent it expressly conflicts with these Terms.
